Hi, Peter - Just the fact that you can't open more than one catalog at a
time.  If you know what year a particular photo was made, you would only
have to open that one catalog, but if you need to search (which I often
do), you cannot search across several catalogs.  My plan, recommended by
Peter Krogh, is to have one catalog for Archive photos - anything made
before this year - and one catalog for the current year.  The current year
catalog would be much smaller and would normally be the one that I'm
working on most of the time.  The smaller catalog would be faster to work
on and the Archive catalog would be for searching anything I've already
keyworded and filed.
