If you buy crappy adaptors then you get crappy results. If you pay the price
for quality parts this shouldn?t occur. Assuming someone uses high quality
machines the tolerances should be within 4 microns - that?s what the folks
down the street tell me - the machines they use to make their machines work
at 2 microns. This should be sufficient, I?d think.

Maybe I?ve been lucky. That?s certainly possible. But I?m liking how my
Leica lenses work on Sony E-mount cameras work. Your milage may vary.

I have no problem with a manual workflow on the A7(r) cameras. It?s no more
difficult than using any manual lens. Personally I?m not thrilled with
auto-focus. I tend to use even autofocus lenses in manual mode.

My feelings: try it. My noctilux works just fine on either A7(r) as does the
100mm APO R.

These are not pentaprism cameras. They have EVF?s I like shooting using the
magnification setting to get focus precise. I continue to be amazed at the
quality of manual focus sports photography from the (ahem) ?days of yore?.
(I?m looking at YOU, Ted.) <grin> It?s non-trivial. I?m still learning. I
love learning.

Just because an adaptor might be required doesn?t mean a camera/lens
combination isn?t worthwhile. Maybe in test cases it is. In the real world?
Prove it.

I read the lens rentals blog and I?m not convinced. I do know I haven?t
experienced this with nova flex
