Thanks Philippe. The vagaries of displays via sRGB are indeed
uncontrollable. The intention was to keep some small tonal detail in the
youngster (I can even see the pebbles flying from the back of his shoe as
he pushes off and dirt/wet spots on the back of his shirt).

A print levels all these differences to what I wanted to show.
Moral: Print! :-)
I'm pleased you enjoy the image, in both incarnations.
