And I find just the opposite.  the 1/ISO rule use to to work just fine on my 
R8 and before that the Rollei SL-35, but I cannot duplicate that at all on 
my digitals.  That was Canon before my now Nikon.  OF course, I am older 
now, too, by 7 years.

I have found I can use way slower hand held shutter speeds on digital camera
than with film. I assumed it was because the shutter worked way differently.
As in electronically instead of mechanically or a hybrid.  Explaining why I
had to get new pricy flashes for them.
