Yes. I played one in high school. The difference is that you can?t really 
walk around with a tuba. In an orchestra, you?d see the tuba resting on the 
player?s lap. The Sousaphone is a physical redesign which enables it to be 
worn over one?s shoulder. I suppose purists might hear some difference in 
the tone quality; I don?t really know.
