Subject: [Leica] IMG: Halloween on Washington DC's E Capitol Street

We have been living in a small, below grade, apartment on the 800 block of
Capitol Street on Capitol Hill.

It has been quite a trip but last night was Halloween and to say it's a Big
Deal is like saying a Leica is an OK camera for doing snapshots: it doesn't
quite encompass the reality.

We sat on the porch of the house where we have been staying and watched the
parade. I felt like I was shooting a runway show. The light ultimately
failed. I was using my Canon 1Ds Mk II with the 70-200 f2.8L lens and had to
keep pushing the ISO higher and higher. Finally at 1600 I could no longer
reliably get a good focus so we packed it in for the event - although we
hadn't even begun to reach max-throughput for the street.

Feel free to scan the gallery but here are a few shots that I particularly
like:

Owners son on the way to trick or treat:

There were ghosts floating overhead as well as all matter of creatures on
the roof which caught the attention of many of the younger kids. This little
girl loved it:

Some bounced up the walk to the caldron of candy goodies:

Others weren't quite so sure:

This young lady should have been working at one of the big camera shows:

Some were quite wary and needed parental support:

Parents dressed also and seemed to have a good time:

And don't miss this young Corpse Bride:

But what the heck - just enjoy the gallery. I had a super time making it!
