Not trivial to those who knew her. Our condolences on your family's loss.

Alastair and Helen

This is indeed trivial after hearing about Gerry's wife Pat. I have
> lived long enough to lose parents, relatives, siblings, and most of my

> Gerry, you have my sincere condolences.

> My niece's one eyed race horse, Ruby, died over the weekend of equine
> encephalitis. Ruby was the granddaughter of Seattle Slew but because
> she had lost an eye as a colt none of the large stables wanted to buy
> her. She was destined for a can of Alpo until my niece put in a low bid
> to claim her. Ruby showed real promise as a race horse. Not too good in
> the middle of the pack because of her poor depth perception but once
> she got in front, no other horse could catch her. She won her sixth
> race of the year on August 27 and was prepping for the next race to be
> run Saturday, Sept. 21 when she sickened and died. My niece told me she
> cried almost as much for the death of her horse as she did for her
> mother.
