I did some experimenting tonight and I'm afraid since my longest lens is a
75mm and I have to wait for the moon to get above the trees and houses this
will not be my finest hour:

What I don't understand is why the tree leaves appear out of focus.  They
were far enough away from me they should have been within the depth of
field of the 75mm set at infinity, I think.

Thanks all for your suggestions.  This is minimally adjusted and massively,
massively cropped.  ISO 500, 1/350 sec, f5.6.
