My quest started when I attempted to adjust/optimize focus with my M9 and 
Noctilux at f1. I found that no one could check/adjust the M9 rangefinder 
here in California, or in the USA, for that matter... I was told by Leica 
that I could send the M9 and Noctilux to them in New Jersey, they would send 
it on to Germany for calibration, that it would take about 2-3 months for 
calibration/adjustment/fine tuning.  I said that what was needed was a 
trivial check and adjustment, I was a loyal and long term customer, I needed 
it done as quickly as possible.  They said 2-3 months...

This was unacceptable to me.....
