Frank I'm used to compact quality cameras costing a grand 20 or 30 years ago
with a fixed lens as were a lot of people I knew. And the list of those
cameras I've typed out a few times.
The Minox 35 GT. Or Minox 35s
Contax T. Rollei 35m, Olympus XA
Those excited me and they excited a lot of people and we used them and blew
up the pix in our largest darkroom trays.
That fact that they were not cheap did not freak anybody out.
A camera with interchangeable glass with a sensor the size of my pinky
fingernail absolutely does not turn my head at all.

One of those cameras which were so valued by top people in lets say 1980 @
$1000 = $2,786.33 today.
The exact price of the Sony
