David, to answer your question, it was a spontaneous shot of a shopkeeper, who repairs and sells these "Hurricane Lanterns" as they are called here. Kerosine is distributed here at a throwaway price, heavily subsidized, so quite a few people, especially in slum areas, still use these kerosene lanterns for lighting. Philippe, the guy sleeping on the ground is the same as the one in "Security" and they are her husband and child. Must be sleeping off some moonshine!
