The fruit on top of the baskets, that is red and green, is called Pitaya....
or.... Dragon Fruit.
It is the fruit of a cactus.

For fun go look it up someplace to get a complete view at a really weird
looking fruit....

Tastes pretty mild, with flavors reminiscent of Kiwi and watermelon.  Grinay
texture, with millions of tiny seed ( reminds me of berry pips).  Comes in
varieties of Red with white or pink to red interior, or Yellow inside and
out.   Not too sweet, but growers are working on that ....

Grown in Central and South America, Thailand, Viet Nam. And other hot and
reasonably wet areas.  Importation is banned in the USA, unless fumigated.
No one fumigates due to the cost and low value,  so most of what you might
see in the stores is grown in Hawaii or Florida, or if you are lucky, the
back yard.
