Sounds like he stepped over the line with the wine attack.  I can see that.

I had one like that in 1980. My girlfriend named him Judas. If you walked
through the room, he would fly out from behind something with forelegs
outstretched. If you reached to pick up a glass of wine, he would leap up
and hang from your arm. I loved it. My girlfriend hated it. She got rid of
him.
