Subject: [Leica] For Sale: M6 TTL 0.85 viewfinder-- pristine condition

It would seem that my decision to pick up the MM has generated a little bit
of curiosity, or should I say shock and disbelief? I can't imagine why
anyone would really care, but here's the deal: I use a recently acquired
Nikon D800e for most of my day to day shooting (especially color), but when
I'm feeling really artistic, I always reach for a Leica.

I confess that I've been entangled in a torrid love affair with b&w for
almost thirty years-- Ansel Adams is my hero. When the MM was announced, I
knew I had to have one. In my mind, Leica and black and white are almost
synonymous. Actually saving that much would have been tough for me (three
kids in college), but I've almost managed to "garage sale" myself to the
magic number. Anyway, I also have an M7, and the M6 was just sitting around
gathering dust, and that just didn't seem right.

Does that make a little more sense Frank? ;~)

OK, scientist that I am.....

Let's test out the theory of 25 steps of dynamic range:
1/4000 to 32 seconds = 17 range steps
F1 to F22 = 9 range steps
ISO 100 to 3200 = 5 steps
16 Bits of Data in the M9 ( or other, who cares),..... 16 Range steps...

That's 47 steps of Dynamic Range....and still going....

I once took a class ( graduate level) that the professor referred to as ...
Lying through Statistics
And yes, I did spend a lot of my Professional life in marketing.....

The MM has 25 stops of dynamic range, at least I read it somewhere
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ <-- right there, I just read it on the
internet, so it must be true

Anyway, just post process it. The LR4 highlight can create data out of
nothing and the Shadow can create nothing out of data!

Oh David, welcome to the Saloon.
