Since 1972 Munich murders the security has been tougher every year and photographers are positioned farther away from the athletes in most cases. A 300mm is considered about as short a lens as you can use. The regular lens begins at 400mm and longer, also with extenders. If you use a 300mm lens, you better have a couple of extenders to reach farther or you'll be doing major blow-ups to get anything.. cheers, Dr. ted ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Nichols" <jhnichols at lighttube.net> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2012 9:59 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] SWIMMING PHOTO POSITION -- BARCELONA 1992 > Some of that glass is awfully large!
