Subject: [Leica] Leica M lenses on the Fuji X-Pro 1

While there is no question modern Leica glass is unparalleled, I'd say,
having used the Leica glass on film, the lenses for the Fuji Xpro1 are damn
good. Keep in mind that Fuji made the Xpan, made at least one other Hassie,
and I seem to remember a number of Luggers raving about the 'Texas Leicas'
Fuji produced. The Xpro1 is a quirky little beast, but I think the biggest
the biggest complaint one reads - that the autofocus is too slow, comes from
people who have never shot with a manual focus camera, much less a
rangefinder, and judge everything by the likes of a Nikon D4. If you're used
to an M9, an M3, or, for that matter, a IIIF, you'll think the autofocus is
more than fast and accurate enough.

Rod --

Give up the idea of using M lenses on this camera and buy it only for the
merits of the AF Fuji lenses.

If you don't see these merits and you insist on manual focusing (even with
the Fuji adapter), I can almost guarantee disappointment and/or lots of
out-of-focus pictures.
