My mother-in-law suffered a knee pain for years and years and it got worse
and worse no matter what she did. Injections, acupuncture, etc. Here
doctor was a quack, and we all knew it. Finally we convinced her to see a
neurologist, and in 5 minutes diagnosed it as a disk problem in her lower
back, where she had no pain. So, a nerve injury can cause pain in a
location further downstream from the injury and you would not suspect it to
be in your back or sciatica.
