B&W JPEGs are quite common, just two previous B&W only digital sensors (rare 
Kodak and specialist Phase). I think he is talking about B&W conversions of 
colour files though....

I'm just curious here.  When I read  "He does say that the Leica MM gives
the best B&W
files of any digital camera available." I ask: How many digital cameras
produce b&w files?

I'm not following this new stuff all that closely but that said I was
unaware of any others.
