Today I visited the Yolo Bypass wildlife area between Sacramento and Davis
CA and an hour of blending into the background scenery was rewarded with
photos of the Least Sandpiper, a tiny (5 to 6 inches) hyperactive shorebird
who probes the mud for yummy invertebrates.

The Least Sandpiper often winters here but in a few days it will fly north
to the Alaskan and Canadian arctic to breed.

technical stuff: R8/DMR, 560mm f/6.8 Novoflex Telyt, shoulder stock &
monopod. The Novoflex built-in extension tube was VERY handy today. All
comments welcome.
