Thanks, I forgot to add that it just had (Feb 2012) a $$$ outing to Solms 
for 6-bitting and calibration....

If it is inconsistent across the distance range, it needs the cam
machined. Don Goldberg can do it, he did it to my 50mm Summicron. I think
it cost $90
