Luis,
I do not think you will get auto exposure with this combo, hence the
exposure meter. I have the same CV model, which I used to use on my M3.
Guys on the a Nikon list, where I picked this up thought it was a perfectly
rational thing to do, I have no idea why. I just thought it looked cool...
