I've had bad experiences with energizers from Sam's Club. for what it's
worth.

Care to share the brand name with us. I would like to avoid those, if
possible. I assume they were from the same batch?

I have been dealing with battery problems of a different sort. My old Volvo
that sits outside in a carport failed to crank a couple of days ago. I
removed the battery and charged it up and it seems ok. Then, one of the
remote controls for the garage door opener quit working. Thinking it was a
battery problem ( Lithium CR2032), I replaced it and it still would not
work. The old battery and the new one test at full voltage. Got to assume
a circuit failure. Could be that I have to retrain the opener to respond to
the remote, since it was without power for a few minutes.

Fortunately, the spare remote works.
