Subject: [Leica] Please Curb your Dog

What does "curb your dog" mean? This is not a phrase I have heard in 
England, but I remember visiting the Hog's Breath Inn (?), proprietor Clint 
Eastwood, when in Carmel in the 80s and they were selling a T-shirt with a 
Dirty Harry picture with gun and that phrase underneath.
I have been mildly curious of the US meaning ever since...
