Subject: [Leica] Program to erase a HDD

Several years ago, I worked with a group that, shall we say, had no name!!!!
Our computer folk would take the HDs apart and sand the disks with an
ordinary wood type sander!!!

For your situation where the data is not really sensitive, using a big
hammer should be OK. Be sure that the platters are really bent.

I don't think neither would de-magnetize the coating on the HDD platters so
you will have to do better than that. :) Melting the platter would be a
better solution than either the slegehammer or the magnum.
