Subject: [Leica] Veterans--delayed reaction

This is more or less what happened to my grandfather, after whom my son was 
named--except for the ending. He was denounced by some jealous neighbor to 
the KGB, arrested in 1944 and sentenced to 10 years in a labor camp in 
Siberia. His real crime was that he had been a leader in the Jewish 
Socialist party Bund in Lublin before the war. Stalin did not want such 
people around after "liberation". My grandfather died in the labor camp in 
1953, a few months before he was due to be released.
