I also have a Mazda Miata convertible that Tom surprised me with when I
returned from one of my trips to Central America. He showed up at the
airport with it and I had all of my camera equipment plus two trunks of
Guatemalan handicrafts that I a brought back to sell for the women there. I
ended up sitting on the trunks all the way home - 30 miles. The Miata,
which is more his than mine really, is a zippy, fun car to drive, but our's
spends most of its time covered in the garage. It's just not practical for
long trips or grocery buying or cold weather or hot weather or windy weather
or rainy weather or interstate competition with trucks. We've had the
convertible top replaced once but no more problems with it. Tom is 6'4" and
fits in it fine but has to get out and stretch his legs every 30 miles or
so!!

Hope this helps.
