I could not get out of my room for 24 hours, so I went without food for a couple of days - I was not yet married at that time.This was an agrarian area, in fact in the heart of India's rice basket, so the villages were devastated to an extent you could not believe, till you had seen it. Horrendous. The memory of those dead piled up to burn will live with me till my dying days.
