But about a half mile North of the site, on Highway 13 just South of Truman Lake near the little town of Osage, Missouri, I saw a section of the bridge over the lake that looked like a scene from Full Metal Jacket. Burned and twisted concrete with gouges which could only be the result of a horrific accident and fire. I couldn't take any pictures due to it's location. It would have just been too dangerous to stop anywhere in the vicinity. I rather think the site is a memorial of some sort.
