- there was plenty of holding the shutter button down in film use.
The attitude that "film is cheap" and not skimp on it was prevalent with
pros and serious shooters. We'd buy a brick in cellophane to get the shot
not a roll.
Now the idea of really working a subject is made accessible to everyone as
digital photograph in that sense is almost free.
The people I've found who love to use this new idiom "spray and pray" are
the people who walk down the sidewalk and when they see something amazing
taking place go "click" and walk away.
I don't find this admirable in any way.
The fact the digital photography makes us able to really work any subject to
really know we have the shot is a huge boom to photography. Its not in
invitation to mindlessness. The term "spray and pray" is idiotic.
