Indeed, this is the EXIF from LR3 for the photo Mark was talking about.

No need to wait until 2525.
I can look at the metadata of a photo in Library of Lightroom 3. In addition
to the focal length (and equivalent 35mm focal length) and estimated
aperture used, it tells me that the lens used was Leica Summilux-M 50mm
f/1.4 ASPH.
That is accurate right down to the full stop after ASPH ;-)

In my experience the estimated aperture value is typically within half to
one stop and often much closer than that.

Of course the EXIF also includes information such as any exposure bias,
metering, ISO, etc.
