Leica only made one version of the Red Scale Elmar (50/3.5) in bayonet, with the more modern 39mm thread and barrel-mounted aperture ring. This was considered the economy lens for the early M3 cameras; most people opted for the Summicron 50/2, which was more expensive. My example came from this list about ten years ago, and went to Sherry Krauter for a full cleaning and dust-up. It's a terrific lens if you have reasonably fast film and lots of light.
