I think tilt helped make the background less OOF. It really worked well on 
#2.
Glad you made it to the Mission. I have a couple of shots I like from there. 
I've seen some very nice HDR images inside the chapel.

Bwahaha, I have to say the drive on Rt 1 from Cambria to Naciemiento Rd to
Fort Hunter Liggett was one of the most "exciting" drives I have done.

We were law abiding citizens - we just drove slower and took pictures of the
tank and target practice houses through the window. My wife is not into
"breaking law" stuff (several years ago, we gave ourselves a self-guided
tour to Drawbridge and I think that'd be as far as she would go)

The Mission that you mentioned provided some good photo opportunities
(thanks!) but haven't really caught up yet.

#3 is lovely.

I remember those scenes well!!

So how useful is the tilt-shift of the Flexbody come into play for shots
like these?
