A guard cat, looks harmless, but worse than a German Shepherd as far as UPS
and
FedEx are concerned. USPS only gets a growl.

Plato, in "The Republic", uses the analogy of philosophical dogs; the
guardians
of the ideal polis will be like philosophical dogs who are friendly to the
people they know, but defend against outsiders. The guardians are meant
seriously enough, but perhaps the philosophical dogs are a joke.

The cat has absorbed too much Plato.
