Subject: [Leica] Full Moon Photo Op

This from another list:

"NASA says that the full moon which will be rising at sunset on the 19th is
considerably bigger than other (wimpier) full moons. Could be your chance
for
some good photography.

Bear in mind that the Moon doesn't rise quite at sunset, but rather almost
half
an hour afterwards in these parts, so it will be mighty dark. If you want to
get
both the Moon and part of a landscape (which seems the main advantage of
having
a large moon), you may need two exposures to handle the contrast.

Next month, on 17 April, the Moon will be almost as large (semidiameter of
0.278
deg vs. 0.279 deg on 19 March), and the timing will be better--a few minutes
after sunset. This still is on the late side for a natural landscape, but
should
be just about right for a cityscape."

Of course, these could also be good opportunities for moon sets...

Best,
Bob
