I agree with all's been said about this lens. Leitz had to use the drip 
method to coat lenses until c.1960, because Zeiss owned the patent on 
the vacuum-deposit method, which produced much harder coatings. Cleaning 
marks are often difficult to see unless you shine a flashlight through 
the lens from the rear.

Also, early production of this lens contained slightly radio-active 
thorium glass, which produces a slightly warm image. A KB 1.5 filter 
will both 'cool it off' and protect the lens.

The lens can be safely used on an M6.

Good luck finding a clean example.
