Subject: [Leica] Nathan's PAD 1/1/2011: a lucky dog

To combat the hangover, we decided to spend the day out in the fresh air and
drove to El Junque, Puerto Rico's only remaining rainforest, now a national
park. There, we met Ada, a friend of my wife from their university days, and
her children--and their new puppy Habibi, a survivor of an incredible
episode of cruelty explained in the caption:

People who are capable of doing such things simply do not deserve to live
(and this particular miscreant ended up with a prison sentence). But for
Habibi and his mother the story ends well.
