The Dead Sea is still there. I think you're confusing it with the Aral Sea
in central Asia, in the former Soviet Union states of Uzbekistan and
Kazakhstan. It is almost totally evaporated and there are rusted ships
sitting on the desert a hundred miles from the current shoreline because
they were beached when it shrank!
