Well, I place my order for the D7000 today. Thanks to all who helped me
figure out how to get the metering working for R lenses. I have ordered
three more Nikon mounts and will convert a few more lenses. Also ordered a
few Nikon lenses to fill in the gaps I have. Got the 10-24 and the 70-300.
The latter not the best but since I go beyond 70mm so rarely, (other than
Macro) I wanted light and not too expensive. It reviews fairly well out to
200 and a bit worse to 300. Should get the stuff in about a week.

That camera is a hard one to find. Not sure if they are selling like hot
cakes, if Nikon is just not geared up to large production, or if they held
them back because of some concerns about hot pixels that they have now
issued a firmware fix for. Everyone was out. Found one at a Ritz in
California near my father-in-law and since I know the manager from other
dealings, he arranged for me to get his only sample and the lenses. Ships
Monday or Tuesday. They are listed as out of stock on their web page. Only
a few brick and mortar store have any left.

Thanks again for all the moral support. I guess I am still as much of an R
user as I am with my Rebel.

Aram
