Doug, 

It's a little out of the box but assuming your lenses have a rotating 
collar, you might want to consider a fluid dampened video head.  They are, I 
think, better when shooting moving subjects.  Gitzo has some qr heads that 
aren't too expensive and will work with conventional (in the still world 
anyway) 3/8" mounting platforms.
