Subject: [Leica] D700

Because Sony IS a camera company. They've made television cameras (that is,
digital cameras!) for decades. Most people don't think of that when they
dismiss Sony as a 'non camera company'. They have more experience making
non-film cameras than just about anyone. Sony has long made the sensors used
by Nikon, Pentax, and Minolta in their digital SLRs and after Sony took over
Minolta's SLR division they began making digital SLRs too. Minolta's people
work for them, so they're not really 'new' to that field either.
