One thing to yell politely at the rent a cops who've decided that you cant
take pictures of the building they've been hired to stand outside of all day
after day is to ask them if they're INDEMNIFIED.
Ask then if when you bring then to court for denying you your First
Amendment right to freedom of expression and freedom of the press if their
boss is going to pay for their legal fees or not and do they know how much
one costs.

I do think that although you can photograph a building federal, state or
haunted house they can get you for photographing a military base; even if
your not on it as in standing outside of it. I'd not mess with that. Those
guys have automatic weapons; and they're pissed off.
