Jayanand,
Thanks for directing us to the Boston Globe site. The pictures of the games
are excellent and totally unlike those of most athletic contests. Very
imaginative.
But I disagree about the relative safety of New Your and Mumbai. You said
"I would rather walk the streets of Mumbai late at

night rather than New York, despite the appalling poverty. But then, I

have been to both places, so I can make up my own mind...."

I've been to both places too. New York is now one of the safest large cities
in the world. Perhaps Singapore is safer. But no large city is really safe
if you are unaware of your surroundings. Evil guys prey on the unwary.

On Goeff's cpmment about banning cameras - photography is forbidden in many
venues which are not considered public places. If you have to buy a ticket
for admission, it is not, by definition, a public place. Good luck in taking
pictures from the audience at a Broadway show. So don't take your camera.
Just watch the performances and enjoy.
