Daniel,

There were a number of internal changes between Mac OS 10.5 and OS 10.6
(Snow Leopard). Depending on what other software you have installed your
printer drivers may work or they may not. I had a similar problem with an
Epson scanner when I switched.

The first step is to delete and then reinstall your current Epson printer
driver. If that doesn't work, download and install the latest printer
driver from the Epson site. By this time most printer and scanner drivers
have been updated to play nicely with OS 10.6. If you still can't print on
the Epson, do a clean reinstall of OS 10.6. That usually fixes most
operating system problems. As a last resort you can install a copy of OS
10.4 or OS 10.5 on another Firewire disc and start the Mac from the older
software when you wish to use a piece of legacy hardware or software. I have
several pieces of equipment whose manufacturer has gone out of business
(e.g. Minolta DiMage film scanner) and the software is no longer updated.

Good luck.

Is anyone else getting the rotten core's equivalent of the blue screen

of death when they try to print from Mac OS X to an Epson 3800.

It worked just fine until I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard.
