Personally, I found excitement in the removal of the "light pipe" in the
front of the camera.... after 80 odd years of the same old....

I agree that the implementation is not too surprising.......

I do wonder about battery life effects.........

Not in the least actually, since it seems that they are just backlighting
the same old frameline masks by LEDs rather than via daylight :-( FD
