Subject: [Leica] NO R solution @ photookina

I have given up on waiting for an R solution from Leica, as it will never
happen, and I will never be able to afford the S2. So a Nikon D3, either S
or X, will be my next DSLR, and a bunch of Leitax adapters for my R glass.
Love my R8/DMR but focussing WAs is no longer possible due to my eyes, so
when the day comes, or the DMR dies, I will switch. So far the M8 is not
problem focussing.

This past weekend, I had a chance to try out the Nikon D3, and D700 bodies,
D700 is nice, but way to noisy for me, and I was surprised when comparing
the D3s/x against the R8DMR. the R8DMR a bit quieter, and significantly
shorter than expected, and actually lighter. A big surprise in the noise
area, as i expected the Nikon to be quieter, it is a bit higher pitched the
the R8, but the motor of the Nikon is quieter(due to being faster?). As for
weight, I expected the Nikon to be a bit lighter, but was surprised they
were almost equal.

Cheers,
Gene

I think that he is good at collating rumours from other rumour sites!
Possibly he is also married to Herr Kaufmann's Dachshund's vet or something.

So now we are discussing the credibility of his rumour discussing the
credibility of other people's rumours!!!! You have to grin.
The R rumours as far as I can tell all grew out of something extremely
unreliable but sustained by a considerable and understandable desire by R
lens owners. I'm not sure that I would bet against some of the other ones
though.
Probably next week I will be proven completely wrong on every count.

There is an official leak source fed by Leica themselves. That is Andreas
who runs the L Camera Forum. You can get the actual facts via twitter if you
really want, starting Monday night 8pm Central European Summer Time.
