Subject: [Leica] Fuji's rangefinder sort of looking digital

an interchangable lens AF system would necessitate greater size and
complexity of the lens and lens-mount, and importantly for a viewfinder
camera, would require a more complex optical finder.

from the marketing viewpoint, an interchangable lens system camera would
become a substitute for leica Ms and DSLRs, rather than a complement.
while building a substitute may be desirable, the audience, price
points, scope of functionality, and ability to capture customers of an
existing system require a different analysis, and from what i've read,
companies building system DSLRs are racing to the bottom in terms of margin.

so a stand-alone quality P&S in the vein of the Contax T family makes a
lot of sense to me, at least. the next question is whether the price
will be higher or lower than X1.
