That headline,  on the 43rumors.com website,

http://www.43rumors.com/no-surprise-panasonic-confirms-that-they-will-no-more-make-a-dslr/

is not exactly supported by the quote "no immediate plans to release a new 
dSLR" subsequently given from the article on CNET Asia, and the link given 
for that article is dead.

Not clear what the real meaning is, even for the G2...
