One suspects that "camera brand and complexity" are really surrogates
for "photographer has a clue/cares/took the photo for this exact
purpose".

Found this on Metafilter.  Some fun number-crunching to tease out
correlations between attractiveness of subjects in photos and
equipment/technique choices.  Not unassailably rigorous, but they did
their best, and most of their results correlate pretty well with
basic principles already thoroughly familiar here.  A few small
surprises, too.
