The "correct" date trivia eclipses the discussion of Tilly hats and single
malt scotches and matches all the balderdash about sensor sizes. If Luggers
want to be completely logical they should use the Julian date (named after
my uncle Julius). Real scientists do. Look it up in Wikipedia.
I label all my photos using the "Leica" date, a chronological listing of
days starting from November 1, 1879, the birthday of Oskar Barnack. However,
I choose my daily wardrobe based on the conventional MM/DD/YY format since,
as Rei pointed out, the month is the most important determinant in deciding
to wear shorts or woolies.
