I endorse the Gitzo too; the new models (newer than the 1228) are better
with the anti-twist lock.
I use the GT15411, and for me, it's perfect for the Leica M and Rolleiflex
TLR cameras.
( I also have the 1228, which I have had for maybe 15 years)
